Transfagarasan, RomaniaThe Transfăgărășan is a paved mountain road built in the early 1970s as a strategic military route. It connects the historic regions of Transylvania and Wallachia and it’s the second-highest paved road in the country after the Transalpina.

Balea Lake, Cartisoara, Romania

Bâlea Lake (Romanian: Lacul Bâlea or Bâlea Lac) is one of the most visited lakes in Romania. It is an amazing glacier lake with a great landscape. The lake is also a reservation and near it, in winter, you can find the first ice hotel built in Eastern Europe.

Vidraru Dam, Arges River, Romania

Lake Vidraru (Romanian: Lacul Vidraru) is an artificial lake created in 1965 by the construction of the Vidraru Dam on the Argeș River. It’s located in the shadow of the Făgăraș Mountains. A village lies submerged at the bottom of the lake.
